What is wrong with us?

Filed under: — site admin @ 9:04 pm

With telecom immunity for warantless wiretapping quite done, AT&T and the other complicit telecom companies have nothing to fear from a legal perspective.

Still, these are publicly-traded companies.  The executives of these companies have a legal obligation to maximize the value/return of their investors.  Why aren’t we threatening to jump ship from our service providers unless they release information on whether or not they wiretapped each and every person who agrees to the disclosure of their inclusion in this program?

Nobody violates a privacy policy this way, and the financial liability that they face for doing nothing is daunting.  If they have immunity, they have nothing to lose by going along with their customers.  Can we only take our anger as far as blogging about it?

This post was, of course, made via an AT&T DSL connection.
